About Me

My name is Paul Cook and I am on a journey. Thankfully I'm not leading that journey, God is. If I were leading it I'm sure that it wouldn't be nearly as exciting.

The name of this blog is Journey From Tarsus. Tarsus is the home of the Apostle Paul, where his journey began. Like the Apostle Paul, I am on a similar journey.

So far my journey has taken me many places, and there are many yet to come. My home is Fort Scott, Kansas and from there I will journey out. Also like the Apostle Paul, I have been called to preach the gospel. I've already begun this with the adventure of a lifetime in South Africa, serving with OneHope for 10 months to share God's Word with children and youth. I also spent a year serving with some missionaries I met in college when they were directing Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. They are working in Cardiff, Wales to start up a new community of faith through Capital City Church.... The next step, well that's yet to be revealed to me.

I want God to use me in incredible ways! I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit in a way that causes people to seek after God. When someone sees me I want them to see Jesus, not me…. Most of all I want God to be my intimate friend. That in and of itself is the real journey. Going overseas is incredible, and I believe God will continue to lead me in that direction, but getting to know God is my ultimate purpose!

I hope you will follow me on this journey.
